Ten Blogs I Love

I’m home sick with the flu. Oh, the flu. It’s so hard to be home sick. If it’s not already obvious, I am do-er that likes to keep busy. You know, the type that adds items to a to-do list just to have things to do and cross off. It’s a problem.

So in essence, sick days are good for me. I need to be told to slow down. And this flu is telling me loud and clear.

Our bodies are brilliant and they deserve to be listened to. And if we don’t listen to them, they will revolt and make their needs known.

And so, my body is forcing me to rest. And Imm attempting to do so without guilt or restlessness.

The past 2 days have included a lot of these…

Spinach, Grape & Coconut Smoothies

And a lot of this…

water, couch + Friday Night Lights

Sitting on the couch has allowed me to catch up on much-overdo blog reading and I’ve forgotten how much I love reading about others’ lives and experiences and learning from their wisdom. Inspired by Shauna Niequist’s post today, I decided to share 10 of my favorite blogs. Some fitness related, some not. I’d love for you to share yours too.

1. Shauna Niequist

Of course. Ever since I read Cold Tangerines and Bittersweet Shauna’s blog has been one that I check on a regular basis. Shauna has a true gift with words. Everyone who reads her writing feels as though she is the best friend that they haven’t actually met yet. It’s amazing. Her blog is nothing less (and I promise I was reading her blog LONG before she mentioned me. That was simply a dream come true).

2. Q Blog

I cannot say enough about the quality of Equinox health clubs. I’m a huge fan of their newly launched blog as well. I teach at the Palo Alto location and am continually impressed by their level of customer service, intelligent & experienced instructors/trainers and offerings in general. Q blog is full of practical fitness advice from trustworthy, professional sources.

3. Restored Style

I love her style – both in blogging and home design.

4. Sprouted Kitchen

Delicious, healthy, whole food recipes with gorgeous photography. She is the epitome of a well-done food blog.

5. Summer Tomato

Her blog is full of practical, helpful healthy living tips. And I also love that she’s a San Fran local 🙂

6. Well In LA

Erin is such a breath of fresh air. I don’t know her personally but I feel like I do! Her blog provides and instant dose of joy and inspiration and serves as a bright spot in the world of healthy living blogs.

7. Camille Styles

This blog makes me want to quit my job and entertain full-time. Okay, not really, but she gives leads me to believe that I can create a simple summer soiree on a budget within minutes. Now if only…

8. Design Sponge

This blog is so full of brilliant ideas that I can barely keep up. I love the variety and the fact that it was started by a young, motivated, woman entrepreneur. It’s the original Pinterest.

9. Lisa Johnson Fitness

Lisa is a Pilates instructor from the Boston but has her hand in all kind so fitness related endeavors. Her blog is fun and relevent. She covers a multitude of health-related topics but I especially appreciate her love and wisdom for the Pilates method as it relates to healthy living.

10. Zen Habits

Leo masters the art of simplicity. His blog is clean, pure, to-the-point and practical. I love his style.

So, your turn. What blogs to do read on a regular basis that I should be reading too?
